As a result, the use of these additives in the manufacturing process of plant-based raw oil and fats, and the import, sale, and distribution of foods using these oils, were permitted.

In 2016, Cargill Japan Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Corporation, which imported plant-based raw oil fats containing the additive used in the manufacturing process, were previously instructed to cease importing and selling the fats. However, the instructions to cease import and sale to the importers of the fats were lifted.
