Kanemoto Corporation was found to have performed construction work with significant defects on the 2019 Yaizu City Turntoku Children’s Center construction project, which was directly commissioned by Yaizu City. The defects included installing a reinforced concrete column on the first floor at a different position than originally specified, and applying mortar using methods and thicknesses not in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Building Works (Building Construction Edition). After completion, part of the mortar detached, causing a defect. Additionally, despite being aware of these construction deficiencies, the company concealed them from the client and submitted false construction drawings that suggested the work was in accordance with the design documents. These actions are deemed to violate Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 2 of the Construction Business Act.
