令和２年７月３１日、岩国市内の一文字処理区雨水調整槽整備工事現場において、株式会社ヒラジュウの油圧式ホイール・クレーンが転倒し、そのブーム部分を、通路で一時停止していた貨物自動車運転席付近に衝突させ、よって、貨物自動車の運転手を多発外傷により死亡させた。 これらにより、刑法２１１条前段に規定する業務上過失致死の罪に当たるものとして、岩国簡易裁判所から株式会社ヒラジュウの元代表取締役が罰金１００万円の略式命令を受け、令和４年１月２８日に刑が確定した。 このことが、建設業法第２８条第１項第１号に該当するものと認められる。
