Between September 10 and 12, 2025, the Choshi Electric Railway Company underwent a safety audit conducted by the Kanto Transport Bureau. The audit revealed that the company had changed the deployment of train radio systems on the 22000 series trains, which had been in operation since February 2024, without following the procedures stipulated under Article 13 of the Railway Business Act. The company is instructed to educate the personnel responsible for train vehicles on the proper procedures and to take necessary measures to ensure proper management. Additionally, the audit confirmed that some staff members responsible for operating trains or vehicles temporarily had not received all required training as per Article 11 of the Implementation Standards Management Regulations. The company must ensure that all staff involved in train operation, including those who may operate trains temporarily, undergo necessary training based on internal regulations, and verify that they possess the appropriate aptitude, knowledge, and skills. The company must also properly manage and inform training procedures internally. The company is required to report on the corrective actions taken by January 26, 2026.
