In December 2022, during lighting facility installation work in the same tunnel, cavities were found within the lining concrete. Subsequent investigations by a technical review committee established by Wakayama Prefecture revealed that the work was rough and involved false reporting. This is recognized as corresponding to Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 2 of the Construction Business Act.

和歌山県発注の長井古座線（仮称八郎山トンネル）道路改良工事において、(株)淺川組を代表者とする特定建設工事共同企業体は、令和４年９月に和歌山県の検査を受け工事を完了した。令和４年１２月、同トンネルの照明施設整備工事において、覆工コンクリート内に空洞の存在が判明した。その後、和歌山県が設置した有識者による技術検討委員会の調査等により、粗雑な工事やそれに伴う虚偽報告の事実が発覚した。 このことが、建設業法第２８条第１項第２号に該当すると認められる。
