Subsequently, on June 19, 2026, the bureau issued a transportation safety order to the company, including the requirement that the captain must immediately report any abnormalities in onboard equipment to the operations manager and undertake repair measures, as stipulated in Article 40 of the safety management regulations.

On January 22, 2022, at approximately 17:00, the ferry 'Ariake Mirai' operated by the Ariake Sea Motor Vehicle Ferry Union, carrying 38 passengers and 16 vehicles, departed from Tobira Port, Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture. During the voyage, the chief engineer on duty was found drinking alcohol in his private room instead of performing his watch duties. There were no injuries among passengers. On February 17, 2022, the Kyushu Transport Bureau's operations labor supervisor conducted an audit based on the Marine Transportation Law. On March 23, 2022, the safety supervisor and the operations manager within the union were instructed to regularly conduct safety education related to the Marine Transportation Law and related laws, including education on alcohol consumption, to ensure transportation safety.
