Nishida Construction Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as the prime contractor) was involved in the reconstruction of the Oe Police Station (provisional name) Oogata Police Box, commissioned by Niigata Prefecture. On October 26, 2022, the company's site manager permitted workers from a secondary subcontractor to use work platforms over 2 meters high at the site without installing safety barriers, handrails, or coverings, despite no legal exemption reasons. This posed a risk of falls and potential harm to workers. Consequently, the prime contractor and the site manager were fined for violations of the Labour Safety and Health Law, with the penalty confirmed by the Takada Summary Court on March 25, 2023. This incident constitutes a violation of Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Building Industry Law.
