The former representative director A of the construction company, along with B organization Osaka Prefecture C Branch secretary-general and director/branch head, conspired to threaten and intimidate employees of D Corporation at a demolition and civil engineering site related to the E District land readjustment project. They negotiated with D Corporation regarding the demolition, civil engineering, and land development work, and had the construction company subcontract part of the demolition work. To deeply involve themselves in the demolition, civil engineering, and land development work, they planned to force D Corporation to change work plans and disclose construction plans related to the removal of embankments near the demolition site. They conspired to threaten D Corporation employees at the demolition site, shouting commands such as 'Stop the site,' and 'We've been requesting this from the beginning,' and demanded changes to work plans. If their demands were not met, they intended to obstruct the demolition work and intimidate the employees to induce them to perform acts they were not obligated to do, by showing aggressive behavior that could harm the reputation and property of D Corporation and its employees. However, because the D Corporation employees reported to the police, their objectives were not achieved. As a result, A was sentenced to one year in prison with a three-year suspension of sentence under Articles 223(1) and (3) of the Penal Code (Law No. 45 of 1907), with the sentence finalized on September 20, Reiwa 6 (2024).
