On October 17 and November 26, 2023, the Kyushu Transport Bureau conducted on-site inspections of Ojika Town under the Marine Transportation Law and identified violations, including changing vessel operation schedules without obtaining approval for schedule changes (violation of Article 11-2, Paragraph 2 of the Marine Transportation Law). On January 16, 2026, the Kyushu Transport Bureau issued a written warning regarding these violations.

On September 11 and November 10, 2023, the passenger ship 'Hama-yu' operated by Ogata Town continued its operations despite repairs from contact with floating debris, without undergoing the temporary inspection mandated by the Marine Transportation Law. An audit based on the Marine Transportation Law was conducted on December 14, 2023, by the Kyushu Transport Bureau's Marine Operations Supervisor. On March 26, 2024, the Kyushu Transport Bureau provided guidance to the operator, including instructions for the captain to immediately notify maritime safety authorities of any accidents and to seek advice on measures taken, in accordance with safety management regulations Article 43 and accident handling standards Article 4.
