The guidance mandates verification of alcohol testing procedures, driver suitability, and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence, with reports due by September 22, 2025.

Between October 16 and 18, 2024, the Chubu Transport Bureau conducted a safety audit of Meichi Railway Co., Ltd. in Ena City, Gifu Prefecture. The audit revealed that at multiple level crossings, the height of overhead communication lines did not meet the 5-meter requirement specified in Article 34 of the Railway Safety Equipment Implementation Standards. Additionally, inspections of electronic interlocking devices and AC uninterruptible power supplies installed at Yamaoka Station had not been performed, contrary to Article 65 of the same standards.
