An employee (then director) of Tachibana Kogyo Co., Ltd. received confidential information about the minimum bid price for a bridge construction project in Tonoshō Town, Kagawa Prefecture, which was being put out to bid on November 9, 2021. The employee obtained this information through the actual manager of a construction company in Takamatsu City and, based on this information, a joint venture for the specified construction work, represented by the company, was awarded the contract. As a result, the employee was found to have violated Articles 60 and 96-6, Paragraph 1 of the Penal Code, and was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison (with a 3-year probation) on June 1, 2022, with the sentence finalized. This is recognized as corresponding to Item 3, Paragraph 1, Article 28 of the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations.
