Kuwahara Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. was involved in a work-related accident on December 12, 2022, at its headquarters factory in Fujiyoshida City, where a worker's left arm was caught between the belt and pulley of a conveyor during inspection, resulting in amputation of the upper left arm at the shoulder. Despite the conveyor's belt and pulley being potentially hazardous parts, the company did not implement safety measures such as installing covers. Consequently, on January 30, 2024, the company and its executive director each received a summary order of a 200,000 yen fine from the Fujiyoshida Summary Court for violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and the penalties were finalized. This is recognized as corresponding to Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Construction Business Act.
