Urawa Kogyo Co., Ltd. was issued a summary order on March 7, 2025, by the Okinawa Summary Court for violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and for professional negligence resulting in death. The violations occurred during the assembly of scaffolding over 5 meters high at a private renovation site in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture, on July 4, 2024. The company failed to monitor the progress of workers' tasks and did not perform the duties of the scaffolding supervisor. Additionally, it neglected the duty to prevent electric shock accidents by installing protective pipes on high-voltage lines, failed to take necessary measures, and did not monitor the work progress. As a result, the company was fined 200,000 yen (corporate) and the individual was fined 500,000 yen, which is recognized as falling under Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Construction Business Act.
