On January 23, 2025, a safety audit was conducted on Hinoe Village (法人番号1000020073644, located in Minami-Aizu-gun, Fukushima Prefecture). The audit revealed deficiencies, notably that inspections required by Article 42 of the Ministerial Ordinance concerning technical standards for cableway facilities had not been performed monthly due to a lack of understanding among safety and technical managers. The village was instructed to promptly carry out the necessary inspections, provide education to managers, and train staff to properly maintain and manage the cableway facilities. The village must report the corrective actions taken by April 14, 2025. The purpose of these measures is to investigate the root causes of the deficiencies, prevent recurrence, and ensure the safety of transportation operations. The enforcement authority is the Tohoku Transport Bureau.
