令和５年６月７日、木材加工用機械作業主任者が工場内におらず、直接の指揮がない中で、技能実習生が、丸のこ盤で木材加工作業を行い、右手親指及び右手小指を切断、右手人差し指、右手中指及び右手薬指を骨折するという災害が発生した。 このため、労働安全衛生法に違反したとして、令和６年４月２６日付けで有限会社わたなべ及び同社の代表取締役に対し、それぞれ２０万円の罰金刑が確定した。
