On January 10, 2022, during work at Suzumin Construction's yard in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, a worker engaged in lifting concrete blocks with a truck-mounted crane sustained multiple fractures, including fractures to the left little finger's distal phalanx, middle finger's distal phalanx, ring finger's distal phalanx, index finger's middle phalanx, and middle finger's middle phalanx. Despite being hospitalized for approximately two months and taking more than four days off, the company failed to promptly submit a worker injury report to the Iwaki Labor Standards Inspection Office. As a result, on December 22, 2022, Suzumin Construction and its representative, Suzuki Masafumi, were each sentenced to a fine of 200,000 yen under the Construction Business Act, Article 28, Paragraph 1.
