An employee of the company, who oversees safety management and supervises workers, failed to perform the duties required of a work supervisor under the law, such as deciding on work methods and directly supervising work, on June 15, 2023. This resulted in a fatal accident involving a worker. On June 18, 2025, the Fukuoka Summary Court sentenced the company to a fine of 200,000 yen for violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and the employee to a fine of 500,000 yen for violations of the same law and for professional negligence resulting in death. 九宝工業（株）は福岡市内における民間発注の新築マンション建設現場の一次下請負業者として掘削工事を施工する事業者、同社社員は、同工事における労働者を指揮監督するなど、安全管理全般を総括する者であるが、令和５年６月１５日、同社員は、作業の方法を決定せず、かつ、作業を直接指揮しないなど、作業主任者として法令の定める事項を行わなかったことにより、作業員が死亡する事故が発生した。 これにより、令和７年６月１８日福岡簡易裁判所から、同社は労働安全衛生法違反により罰金阿２０万円、同社社員は同法違反及び業務上過失致死の罪により罰金５０万円の略式命令を受け、それぞれ刑が確定している。 このことは、建設業法第２８条第１項第３号に該当する。
