横場工業株式会社が請け負った工場増設工事において、令和2年（2020年）8月1日、同社に派遣された労働者がクレーンでつり上げた荷揚げ台から墜落し負傷する事故が発生した。 この件に関し、ミキサーを工場内に搬入する作業を行わせるに当たり、法定の除外事由がないのに、労働者をつり上げた荷揚げ台に乗せて作業させ、もって機械等による危険を防止するために必要な措置を講じなかったとして、同社及び同社従業員に対し、八代簡易裁判所から労働安全衛生法違反によりそれぞれ罰金20万円の略式命令があり、令和3年（2021年）10月9日、その刑が確定した。
