令和6年7月24日、東海汽船株式会社が運航する旅客船「セブンアイランド愛」は、旅客116名を乗せて東京港竹芝桟橋から式根島へ向かう途中、航行不能に陥り、漂流した。 同月25日から同年8月2日まで、関東運輸局の運航労務監理官が海上運送法に基づく監査を実施した。 同年9月25日、関東運輸局は同者に対し、「経営トップ及び安全統括管理者は、安全管理規程第45条に基づき、事故処理（原因究明及び再発防止策の策定までを含む一連の措置）に際しては、事故の原因の究明を最優先に実施して現場におけるリスクを明確にし、運航再開前に必要な再発防止の措置を講ずること。」を含む警告を行った。
