株式会社吉村建設は、令和2年（2020年）4月20日、県南広域本部が発注した「両出地区経営体育成基盤整備事業（長寿命化）第16号工事」の工事現場において、移動式クレーンを使用し、つりクランプ1個を用いて玉掛けをした荷である軽量鋼矢板1枚をつり上げて移動させる作業を行うに当たり、つり上げられている荷の下への労働者の立ち入りを規制すべきところ、その措置を講じることなく労働者を立ち入らせ、もって機械等による危険を防止するため必要な措置を講じなかった。 この件に関し、同社及び同社従業員に対し、熊本簡易裁判所から労働安全衛生法違反によりそれぞれ罰金20万円の略式命令があり、令和3年（2021年）5月12日、その刑が確定した。
