令和3年3月以降、宗像市のフェリー「おおしま」は、危険物船舶運送及び貯蔵規則においてフェリーでの運送が認められていない危険物「次亜塩素酸ナトリウム」を計6回運送した。各運送にあたり、旅客の負傷者なし。 1月28日、九州運輸局の運航労務監理官が海上運送法に基づく監査を実施した。 3月29日、安全管理規程作業基準第5条に関連して、荷送人に対し、危険物運送の申込後速やかに危険物明細書の提出を求めること。また、安全統括管理者及び運航管理者は申込のあった危険物を本船において運送することの法的適合性を事務所側・船側の両者が当該運航の事前に判断可能とする体制を構築することを含む指導を行った。
