| Summary | On February 21-22, 2024, the Kanto Transport Bureau conducted a safety audit of Oze Iwakura Resort Co., Ltd. in Katashina Village, Gunma Prefecture. The audit revealed that the operation regulation devices of the Iwakura No. 3 and No. 8 quad lifts, the No. 4 and No. 7 romance lifts, and the Nishiyama No. 2 romance lift were malfunctioning, yet their inspection results were recorded as 'good' in the start-up inspection and operation records. Under the Ministry Ordinance establishing technical standards for ropeway facilities, the company is instructed to ensure accurate record-keeping based on inspection results and to properly conduct start-up inspections. The company is required to investigate the underlying causes of these issues, implement measures to prevent recurrence, and report the corrective actions by June 25, 2024. |
