Between July 31 and August 1, 2025, the Osaka Transport Bureau conducted a safety audit of Mizuma Railway Co., Ltd. Under the Railway Business Act, the audit revealed that at multiple stations, the building clearances for platforms, as specified in Article 18 of the Civil Engineering Facilities Implementation Standards, were obstructed by structures. The bureau instructed the company to promptly formulate maintenance plans for the affected areas, take necessary measures, and, if any non-compliance with the standards was found during regular inspections, to consider the timing and methods of repairs and ensure proper implementation. The company is required to report the measures taken by October 20, 2025, including root cause analysis and measures to prevent recurrence. This guidance is issued by the Kinki Transport Bureau.
