On September 28, 2023, Tokyo Sightseeing Boat Co., Ltd.'s passenger vessel 'Dokan' with 101 passengers onboard, while navigating the Asakusa to Hinode route, contacted the横桁 of Eitai Bridge. No injuries were reported. An audit was conducted by the Kanto Transport Bureau's operations and labor supervision officer on October 13, 2023, under the Maritime Transportation Law. On March 18, 2024, the bureau issued an order including the requirement that the captain, based on Article 24 of the Safety Management Regulations, should timely judge the safety of navigation before departure and during standard navigation, and take measures to suspend operations if tide levels approach the limit for safe operation, and consult with the vessel's management if such judgment is difficult.
