On June 2, 2022, the Okinawa General Bureau's Marine Operations Supervisor conducted an audit of the Okinawa Tourism Convention Bureau under the Marine Transportation Law. It was confirmed that the bureau's passenger irregular route business had violations of the Marine Transportation Law and safety management regulations, specifically the failure to report the dismissal and appointment of the vessel operation manager. On March 27, 2024, the Okinawa General Bureau provided guidance to the bureau, including the instruction that the top management should actively ensure compliance with relevant laws and safety regulations and promote the principle of safety prioritization within the organization to prevent recurrence of such issues.
