On May 25, 2024, at a factory in Furuyama, Matsubase Town, Uto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, an incident occurred where a worker from Kumamoto Tekko Co., Ltd. was crushed when a steel material they were lifting with a crane fell during operation. Regarding this matter, the company and the line leader each received a summary order of a 200,000 yen fine from the Kumamoto Summary Court for violating the Industrial Safety and Health Act by allowing a worker without the legally required qualifications to operate a crane with a lifting capacity exceeding 5 tons and to perform rigging work. The sentence was finalized on June 6, 2025.
