Kabushiki Kaisha Tōken Setsu and its representative director were involved in a fatal accident at a construction site in Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture, on June 24, 2022. A worker was killed after contact with an excavator. Despite the risk of contact during operation, the company did not assign a guide or take necessary safety measures to prevent danger from machinery. On December 1, 2022, the company was issued a summary fine by the Uwajima Summary Court for violating the Industrial Safety and Health Act. This incident constitutes a violation of Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Construction Business Act. The prefecture issued a directive requiring the company to ensure compliance with relevant laws, strengthen safety management systems, and report measures taken, as part of the enforcement action.
