The representative director of Ito Steel Works Co., Ltd. was responsible for overseeing the company's operations and worker safety. On February 23, Reiwa 5 (2023), at 7-4 Ukishima-cho, Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, workers were made to lift materials to the top of a silo approximately 26.7 meters above ground using an electric hoist. The lifted materials could have fallen and posed a danger to workers. The company failed to establish a restricted entry zone or take other measures to prevent this danger. As a result, on February 9, Reiwa 6 (2024), the company and its representative director received a summary order from Kawasaki Summary Court imposing a fine of 200,000 yen for violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and the penalty was finalized. This constitutes a violation of Article 28, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Construction Business Act.
