On April 15, 2022, the Toyama Prefectural Public Safety Commission conducted a safety audit of Man'yo Line Co., Ltd. following reports that the company's transportation manager, responsible for railway operation tasks as stipulated under Railway Operation Regulations Article 7-2, had not undergone the mandated aptitude tests. The audit revealed that, despite the company's internal regulations requiring regular execution of work aptitude tests (Uchida-style Crepeline test) for all staff involved in railway operation, the transportation manager had not completed these tests within the designated period. The company was instructed to reaffirm the importance of aptitude testing to management, establish a system to ensure the tests are reliably conducted, and thoroughly manage this process. The company was also required to investigate underlying causes, including systemic factors, formulate necessary corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and report on the measures taken by June 16, 2022. This action was classified as administrative guidance by the Hokuriku-Shinetsu Transport Bureau.
