On February 17, 2026, the Chubu Transportation Bureau conducted a safety audit of Minami-Echizen Town. The audit found that the ropeway facilities, specifically the Imashō No. 1 and No. 3 pair lifts, had been modified without following the procedures stipulated in Article 12 of the Railway Business Act, which is applied by Article 38 of the same law. The bureau has instructed the town to promptly carry out necessary procedures and implement appropriate measures to prevent recurrence. The town is also required to investigate the underlying causes of the issue and report the corrective actions taken by April 30, 2026.
