Between January 23 and 27, 2023, the Hokkaido Transport Bureau conducted a safety audit of Niseko Tokyu Resort Co., Ltd. Under the Railway Business Act and related regulations, the bureau identified several issues requiring corrective measures. These include: 1. Unreported changes to wind speed regulation settings for the Holiday First Pair Lift and Swinging Monkey Lift, which are subject to the Railway Business Act's provisions on cableway modifications; 2. Grounding resistance measurements exceeding standards in some cabins of the King 3 Quad Lift, King 4 Lift, and Swinging Monkey Lift, contrary to the compliance confirmation inspection standards; 3. Lack of insulation resistance testing on auxiliary brake devices for the Hirafu Gondola, King 3 Quad Lift, and Ace Family Quad Lift, and the absence of such testing as an inspection item in the relevant regulations; 4. Failure to submit reports on a personal injury accident involving the Ace 2 Center Four Lift that occurred on February 2, 2020, as required by the Railway Accident and Incident Reporting Regulations. The company is instructed to implement corrective measures and report them by March 13, 2023, to ensure future compliance and safety.
