株式会社砂田建設の取締役は、本県発注の（二）僧都川水系僧都川 河川地震防災強化対策工事の現場において、令和５年９月８日、同社作業員（取締役）が旋回中のクレーンの吊り荷の大型土嚢と接触し河川内に転落・死亡した事故に関し、同クレーンを操作するにあたり、周辺の作業員の有無及びその安全を確認し、作業員を同クレーンの旋回範囲内から退避させるなどして旋回させるべき業務上の注意義務を怠ったとして、令和６年３月22日、業務上過失致死の罪により愛南簡易裁判所から罰金の略式命令を受け、その刑が確定している。 このことは、建設業法第28条第１項第３号に該当する。
