During this work, the representative allowed workers to perform light excavation without taking measures such as installing earth retaining supports to prevent the risk of collapse or falling soil and stones, despite the potential danger to workers. This failure to implement necessary safety measures to prevent hazards associated with the excavation work constituted a violation of the Industrial Safety and Health Act. The representative was issued a summary order for a fine of 200,000 yen by Marugame Summary Court on September 30, 2021, and the penalty was finalized on October 19, 2021.
