Violation
In May 2024, Matsuo Manufacturing Co., Ltd. subcontracted the manufacturing of automotive parts. By June 1, 2024, despite not placing orders for the products made using the molds for an extended period, the company required subcontractors to store a total of 759 molds free of charge, thereby unjustly harming the interests of the subcontractors. The Fair Trade Commission investigated and found that this conduct violated Article 4, Paragraph 2, Item 3 of the Subcontracting Law, which prohibits requesting unjust economic benefits. Accordingly, on March 17, 2024, the Commission issued a recommendation to Matsuo Manufacturing Co., Ltd. based on Article 7, Paragraph 3 of the same law.
