Between August 2023 and December 2024, Yazaki Parts Co., Ltd. subcontracted the manufacturing of certain products and parts to other businesses, which are produced by its parent company, Yazaki Corporation. From at least September 1, 2023, the company required 84 subcontractors to produce and store samples of the parts and final products in quantities matching the production lots, for six months or one year. Additionally, the company had these subcontractors produce and store product samples free of charge, which was deemed to unjustly harm the interests of the subcontractors. The Fair Trade Commission found that these actions constituted a violation of the prohibition against unjust economic benefit requests under the Subcontract Act, and issued a recommendation to Yazaki Parts Co., Ltd. on March 30, 2024.

矢崎部品は、令和５年８月頃から令和６年12月までの間に、他の事業者に対し、自社が親会社である矢崎総業から製造を請け負う本件製品及びこれに用いる本件部品の製造を委託した。遅くとも令和５年９月１日以降、当該84名に対し、委託に係る本件部品の各生産ロットの生産開始品、最終製品等を製造する際、本件部品と同一の物を製品サンプルとして所定の個数を併せて製造し、６か月間又は１年間保管するよう求めていたところ、遅くとも令和５年９月１日以降、当該84名に対し、自己のために無償で製品サンプルを製造させ、及び保管させることにより、当該84名の利益を不当に害していた。
