有限会社中山工業は、御船町内における社屋事務所の新築工事の一次下請として工事を行っていたものであるが、同社代表取締役及び同社従業員は、元請会社代表取締役と共謀の上、両社の業務に関し、令和2年（2020年）11月24日、熊本労働基準監督署において、同署長に対し、真実は、同社の労働者が、同月11日、同工事現場において、高さ3.8メートルの鉄骨上で作業中に同所から地面に墜落したことにより骨盤骨折等を負い、同日から4日以上休業したにもかかわらず、同人が、同日、同社工場内において作業中に墜落し負傷した旨の虚偽の事実を記載した労働者死傷病報告書を提出し、もって労働基準監督署長に虚偽の報告をした。 この件に関し、熊本簡易裁判所から労働安全衛生法違反により有限会社中山工業に対し罰金20万円、同社代表取締役及び同社従業員に対し、それぞれ罰金10万円の略式命令があり、その刑が確定した。
