令和４年３月２１日、福島県相馬市赤木広谷地地内で施工する電車線修繕工事の現場内で、有限会社鈴木電設の労働者が作業中に負傷し、４日以上休業する労働災害が発生した。 本件労働災害について、本来は、災害発生地を管轄する相馬労働基準監督署長に対し、労働者死傷病報告を提出しなければならないものであった。 しかし、有限会社鈴木電設の代表取締役は、当該工事において労働災害が発生したことを隠すため、当該労働災害を「福島県西白河郡西郷村大字長坂字中森１４番地４に所在する有限会社鈴木電設の自社撤去品置き場で発生した」と偽って、同事業場所在地を管轄する白河労働基準監督署長に労働者死傷病報告を行い、令和５年３月１６日に至るまで、同報告を相馬労働基準監督署長に提出せず、もって法令に定める報告をしなかった。 このため、労働安全衛生法（昭和４７年法律第５７号）に違反したとして、令和６年３月３０日付けで有限会社鈴木電設及び同社代表取締役に対しそれぞれ２０万円の罰金刑が確定した。
