平栗建設株式会社は、令和３年６月４日、遠軽町生田原八重496番１のJR北海道旅客鉄道(株)社有林伐木作業現場において、当時、周辺地域は複数回にわたり強風注意報が発表されており、作業現場の未伐木の立木が倒木するおそれがあるにもかかわらず、作業を中止させることなく継続したため、作業員1名が倒木の下敷きとなり死亡したことから、働安全衛生法第21条1項労働安全衛生規則第483条）違反として、令和３年１２月２４日、遠軽区検察庁より起訴され令和４年１月７日、遠軽簡易裁判所より法人、代表者に対し、それぞれ、罰金２０万円及び罰金３０万円の判決を受け令和４年１月１９日、この刑が確定しました。 このことは、建設業法第２８条第１項第３号に該当するものです。
