事故後、当該事業者である「知床遊覧船」の旅客不定期航路事業の運営について監査を実施したところ、複数の海上運送法第50条6号等の規定に違反する事実が確認されたことから、同法第23条において準用する第16条の規定に基づき、令和4年6月16日をもって旅客不定期航路事業の許可を取り消した。 ○参考・海上運送法（事業の停止及び許可の取消し）第十六条国土交通大臣は、一般旅客定期航路事業者が次の各号のいずれかに該当するときは、当該事業の停止を命じ、又は許可を取り消すことができる。一この法律若しくはこれに基づく処分又は許可若しくは認可に付した条件に違反したとき。二～四（略）（準用規定）第二十三条第八条第一項及び第二項、第九条から第十一条まで、第十三条、第十六条、第十九条第一項（第二号及び第三号に係る部分に限る。）及び第二項、第十九条の二から第十九条の二の三まで並びに第十九条の三第四項及び第五項の規定は、旅客不定期航路事業について準用する。この場合において、第八条第二項中「一般旅客定期航路事業者」とあるのは「旅客不定期航路事業者」と、第十一条第二項中「第四条」とあるのは「第四条（第六号に係るものを除く。）」と読み替えるものとする。（罰則）第五十条次の各号のいずれかに該当する場合には、当該違反行為をした者は、百万円以下の罰金に処する。一～五（略）六第十条の三第一項（第十九条の三第三項、第十九条の六の三第二項及び第三項、第二十条の二第二項及び第三項並びに第二十三条において準用する場合を含む。）の規定による届出をしないで、又は届出をした安全管理規程（第十条の三第二項第二号及び第三号（これらの規定を第十九条の三第三項、第十九条の六の三第二項及び第三項、第二十条の二第二項及び第三項並びに第二十三条において準用する場合を含む。）に係る部分に限る。）によらないで、事業を行つたとき。七～二十四（略）（処分関係）北海道運輸局海事振興部旅客・船舶産業課 TEL：011-290-1011（直通）（監査関係）北海道運輸局海上安全環境部運航労務監理官 TEL：011-290-2773（直通）
