令和4年12月12日、熊本県球磨郡あさぎり町の工事現場において、株式会社尾方商会の労働者が作業中、負傷する事故が発生した。 この件に関し、当該労働者が負傷して4日以上休業したにも関わらず、令和5年6月2日に至るまで労働者死傷病報告を人吉労働基準監督署長に提出していなかったことで、同社及び同社代表取締役に対し、人吉簡易裁判所から労働安全衛生法違反によりそれぞれ罰金20万円の略式命令があり、令和6年（2024年）2月1日、その刑が確定した。
