本件は、丸昭建設（株）が受注した八代復興事務所事務所発注の「Ｒ６人吉市道中神大柿線災害復旧天狗橋外護岸工事」において、令和６年１２月２３日に発生した工事関係者事故である。 バックホウオペレーターがバックホウの動きを制止するため安全レバーを操作しようとした際、作業服の左袖が操作レバーに引っかかりアームが意図しない動作となった結果、付近で作業していた被災者の両脚大腿部がバックホウのバケットと床掘斜面の間に挟まれ引きずりあげられた形となり負傷したものである。
