有限会社若狭プラントサービスおよび同社の作業責任者は、令和元年９月１９日、関西電力株式会社発注工事（高浜原子力発電所１・２号機安全対策工事のうち建屋壁改造工事）において、同社の労働者を使用してトンネル内部にて、鉄製の壁をトンネル内部に固定するための溶接作業を行わせるに当たり、内燃機関を有するエンジン溶接機を使用させ、当該溶接機から発生したガスによる健康障害を防止するための必要な措置を講じなかったことから、関係者９名が被災した。 このことについて、同社および同社の作業責任者が、敦賀簡易裁判所から労働安全衛生法により、それぞれ罰金刑を受け、令和６年４月２日にその刑が確定した。
