株式会社前田建設は、令和６年９月30日、苫前郡初山別村字有明１６１６番地の有明６線横断管改修工事現場において、ショベルカーを操縦中に、前方にいた作業員をショベルのバケットと振動ローラーとの間に挟み、その作業員が死亡する事故を発生させた。 その際、運転中のショベルカーに接触することにより危険が生ずるおそれのある箇所に作業員が立ち入ることについて、禁止を表示することやその他の方法により立ち入りを禁止することを行わず、労働者の危険を防止するための必要な措置を講じなかった。 これは、労働安全衛生法第20条第１号の規定に違反しており、留萌簡易裁判所から罰金の略式命令を受け、令和７年９月27日に刑が確定した。 このことは、建設業法28条第１項第３号に該当するものである。
