吉永電機株式会社が，元請として請け負った鹿児島県霧島市内の大規模ソーラー建設工事現場において，令和2年2月20日，同社が使用する労働者が足場板を地面に下ろす作業中に，墜落して死亡する事故が発生した。 この件について，同社及び代表取締役は，労働安全衛生法違反により，鹿児島簡易裁判所か らそれぞれ罰金の判決を受け，令和3年1月26日に刑が確定した。 このことは，建設業法第28条第１項第３号に該当するものである。
